How to Prepare Your Jar For a Refill

Refilling your candle? Here’s our recommended method for cleaning out your used jars:

1. Set your oven to its lowest temperature.

2. Place your empty candle jars on a baking sheet and carefully slide them into the oven.

3. Once the leftover wax has fully melted, use an oven mitt to remove the jars and carefully pour the wax into the trash—never down the drain.

4. Use a spoon or butter knife to gently pop out the wick sticker and discard it.

5. Wipe away any remaining wax residue with a paper towel —or our Swedish Cloths, perfect for cleaning your jars between refills — and a little rubbing alcohol.

6. Once your jars are clean and dry, they’re ready to refill!

~Alternative Cleaning Methods~

Freezer Method

Place your vessel in the freezer until the wax is cold and firm. Then gently scrape out the wax and discard it. Wash any remaining residue with warm, soapy water.

NEVER pour wax down the drain.

Boiling Water Method
Pour boiling water into your vessel and let it sit until the wax floats to the top and hardens. Scoop out the wax into trash, remove the wick base to recycle or reuse, and clean with warm, soapy water.

♻️ Reusing your jars is one of the best ways to reduce waste and get the most out of your candle experience.
